About

About

I’m Ted Rand-Bell, a Bristol-based artist working under the name Tedsrightmind.

My work is driven by colour, repetition and the process of making. I’m interested in how simple marks, shapes and materials can build up over time to create something much larger and more complex. I like things that look pretty, but I’m also drawn to the unpredictability that comes with making - allowing a piece to develop rather than knowing exactly what it will become from the start.

My practice is abstract, colourful and open to interpretation. I don’t want to tell people what they should see in my work. I’m more interested in creating something that makes someone stop, look and find their own meaning in it.

A lot of my work comes from experimenting with repetition and layering, often combining painting with unusual or everyday materials. I enjoy the patience involved in building up a surface, whether that’s through repeated prints, layers of resin, texture or small individual marks. For me, the process is just as important as the finished piece.

I’m currently studying Fine Art in Bristol, while developing my practice alongside exhibitions, commissions and collaborations. My work has grown from experimenting in my studio and sharing the process online through Tedsrightmind.

I see my practice as an ongoing journey of discovery. I’m constantly trying new materials, colours and ways of working, and I think that uncertainty is one of the most exciting parts of being an artist.

Prints & Commissions

This website is exclusively dedicated to printed editions of my original paintings, making my work more accessible while staying true to the original pieces.

If you’re interested in commissioning an original painting, I’d love to hear from you. Please get in contact to discuss your ideas, space and what we could create together.
